U.S. Senator Rick Scott (former governor of Flordia from 2011-2019) and Ryan Petty (father of Alaina Petty who life was taken in the shooting at her school) disucss school security.

Petty was crucial in the passing of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act, which then-governor Rick Scott signed into law. Together, they had a discussion on the importance of school safety, and how compromise is often necessary to do important things.

After a brief discussion, Bridget Ziegler, a school board member from Sarasota, FL, and the Co-Founders of Moms for Liberty, Tina Descovich and Tiffany Justice, former school board members, joined them on stage to discuss the difference in the state and local role in school security.
